Will The Espy be the same?

Parts of it will be. Parts of it won’t be. Parts of The Espy haven’t been seen by the public for over 60 years! We’ll be opening up every square centimetre of Hotel Esplanade’s five historical levels, and filling them full of music, arts, cocktails, beers, food, fun and laughter. We seriously can’t wait to show you!

 

What are the trading hours?

The ground floor is trading 7 days a week from 11am until late, and from 9am for brunch on Saturday and Sunday.

 

How do I purchase tickets to a gig?

Click on the MUSIC page to book tickets. Sign up to our NEWSLETTER to hear about the latest gigs!

 

I want my band to play a gig. Who do I contact?

Easy! Email our music team – music@hotelesplanade.com.au

 

Can I book a function?

For sure! Just head to the FUNCTIONS page and fill out the enquiry form to contact our functions team.

 

Are you open for Christmas Day?

We sure are! The entire ground floor of the pub will be open for trade.

 

What are you doing for special events and key dates?

Heaps! Make sure you follow our social media channels and sign up to our NEWSLETTER to keep up to date with all of the latest and greatest information.

 

Is there a dress code?

Thongs, hats, T-shirts… basically anything you like. Neat casual is welcome throughout the venue!

 

Can I bring kids and do you have kids meals?

Absolutely! We have a choice of kids meals available on our menus and high chairs are available on request.

 

Is my dog welcome?

100%! Pooches of all shapes and sizes are welcome in the front beer garden, we just ask that they remain on leash.

 

What’s the best public transport routes?

Tram #16, 96, 3a. Hop off or on at stop #136.
Bus: 246, 600/922/923, 606, 623.

 

Where is the nearest car parking?

Street parking as marked. There are a number of nearby paid parking lots within very close walking distance.

 

Are you wheelchair accessible?

Yes! The majority of the venue is wheelchair accessible. Feel free to give us a call for further information or on arrival request assistance from our hosts.

 

Where do I go when I get there if I have a booking?

See our lovely hosts on the door and they will help you with directions.

 

Do you have guest lists?

Nope! Just come on down as we hold over 1,500 people in the venue and operate on a first come, first served basis.

 

How do I reserve an area?

Private functions are available. Just head to our FUNCTIONS page for further information. We like to ensure our spaces are always available for everyone to casually make use of, so just come down and grab an area.

 

What music will you be playing in the venue?

The music will vary according to the area, time of day and day of the week. We promise you it will perfectly match the area you choose to experience within the venue!

 

What is the food menu?

The Espy Kitchen features local seafood, pub classics, rotisserie and wood-fired pizzas.
Mya Tiger features Cantonese classics (dumplings, baos and Peking ducks) and epic cocktails.

Can I bring a cake?

Celebrations are a big thing to us so we appreciate this special gesture. Depending on the location you choose to be in within the venue, there may be a cakeage fee for plates and service. Please note that no prior storage will be possible.
