The Espy Kitchen
When taking a midday break after exploring St. Kilda, there’s nothing like popping into a neighborhood pub for a meal and a pint. The Espy Kitchen combines rustic atmosphere with one of the best St Kilda lunch spots. Chef Ash Hicks has developed an all-day menu with something for every taste and every age group, whether you want a light snack or a hearty meal to give you fuel for a long day.
With an open kitchen in a wood-accented dining room, the Espy Kitchen offers a full bar featuring the same quality of drinks as Hotel Esplanade’s famous beer garden, and nothing goes better with beer than bar snacks. Begin your meal with savory bites including crispy polenta chips; cheese arancini; grilled cheese with figs; chicken pate with prunes; Morton Bay bug rolls; roasted pork meatballs or lamb sausage; fried chicken; beef tartare; or Wagyu beef croquettes. Seafood fans can kick off their meal with fresh shellfish and fish including local oysters; Harvey Bay scallops, Albacore tuna; coconut chili mussels; crispy lime-pepper sleeves; or a seafood platter combining all your favorites.

Choose from classic green salads; roasted vegetables including cauliflower or beetroot; grain salads with middle-eastern spices; or a unique XO-spiced Brussels sprout plate.
No lunch at the Espy Kitchen is complete without one of our famous wood-fired pizzas, and we have vegetarian options including classic Margherita or four-cheese, or mushroom and greens pizzas. Carnivores will love our Salami, Spicy Pork, Hawaiian; or Chili Prawn. The hungriest diners can dig into our Espy Classics menu, including chicken parm, fish & chips; the Espy cheeseburger; a half-roast chicken; and a hearty porterhouse cooked to order.
Kids will enjoy smaller portions of our pizza, fish & chips, cheeseburger, or green salad, and kids of all ages can dig into our famous desserts. Satisfy your sweet tooth with a choice of salted caramel vanilla soft-serve; ricotta cheesecake with strawberries; vegan coconut mousse with tropical fruits; or raspberry brioche donuts.
Chef Sarah Chan’s all-day Cantoniese eatery serves up fast-fire Chinese classics, with an inspired cocktail list. A bright-wide-open dining room with golden booths for groups gives every table a perfect view of the St Kilda foreshore as they dig into a wide menu featuring everything from small plates to large-format noodles, meats and seafood dishes designed to share.
Start your lunch with a selection of snacks and small plates including fresh-shucked oysters with a rice wine vinaigrette; Chinese pickles; edamame; sesame prawn toast; salt-and-pepper squid; cumin lamb spring rolls; five-spice chicken ribs; and cured raw kingfish. Mya Tiger offers an extensive list of light and hearty main courses, including crispy-fried whole market fish, Typhoon king prawns, and stir-fried noodles with duck or pork. Pork is available in sticky glazed roast pork or crispy fried pork belly, but the headliner is Mya Roast Duck for the table with all the accompaniments you need to make a classic Peking Duck roll.
Vegetarians will be happy with a quartet of meat-free entrees – honey-caramel eggplant; fried chili green beans; salt-and-pepper tofu; and Asian greens with wine and oyster sauce. There’s no better way to wrap up a lunch at Mya Tiger than with one of our sweet desserts – Vegan mango coconut pudding; red bean mille-feuille; or a classic ice cream sandwich.
Mya Tiger’s attached bar offers a unique collection of Asian-accented cocktails beyond an extensive collection of draught and bottled beer and a full list of white, red, pink, sweet, and sparkling wines. The fun and vibrant cocktail bar menu that not only complements the food menu, but stands on its own merit. Using many of the ingredients used on the food menu, as well as different teas from across Asia, drinks burst with flavours people are familiar with, but presented in a fresh and unique way. The clean and refreshing Beijing Peach, for example, brings together.
Jasmine-Infused Wyborowa Polish Vodka, lime and peach, while the Chinese 5 Spice Highball uses infused Havana Especial, pepsi and citrus to take on the famed Cuba Libre. There is also fridge full of self-serve craft beers.
